It's (Almost) Awards Season!

The Artist has remained busy the last few weeks with California state school testing, auditions and everyday life in Hollywood.  A quick list of the latest from Hollywood includes:

*I'm pretty sure I saw Judd Apatow and Leslie Mann at Trader Joe's in Sherman Oaks.

*I spotted the Go Daddy Super Bowl Commercial Nerd at a thrift shop in Studio City.

*Harvey Levin was lifting weights at my gym last week.

*Zach auditioned for a program that teaches English to pre-K Asian children, a guest shot on a Nickelodeon show and two independent films.

*He also received his info for the Young Artist Awards in the mail today!  Check out the bad quality photos I took below:

It should be a great time even if I have to be "Dressy" at the event.

I'll check in before the awards gala happens on May 5th.

If you have a moment, please click on the link to Zach's IMDb page.  The amount of clicks he gets helps his weekly IMDb ranking.

Behind The Scenes Photos 2

Thanks for the nice messages after I posted the photos last night.  Here are a few more shots of The Artist at work.

Zach with his teacher in Sherman Oaks.

One of his projects involved karate and MMA fighting so Zach decided to take the opportunity to learn some moves.

He looks like a pro.

The Paramount entrance off of Melrose.

Check out the history of this stage!

Walking to the set on the Paramount lot.

I cut off the bottom to hide the project name.  Sorry!
The famous Paramount Water Tower.
I never imagined I'd be hanging out on the Paramount Lot.  I certainly never imagined I'd be on the lot with my teen actor son!

Most of the other behind the scenes photos I have are photos I can't post because of the sensitive nature of the projects.  I hope you enjoyed the photos I could share with you!

Behind The Scenes Photos 1

The Artist had a busy March that I detailed in a previous post (follow the link) http://dadager.blogspot.com/2013/03/what-kind-of-teen-is-artist.html

One of the larger projects he worked on was "Long Way Down".  His scenes were shot at a couple of different locations in Pasadena.  The first location was in the shadow of The Rose Bowl.  The other location was a motel in downtown Pasadena.

Yes, he got a sunburn that day.

Zach plays a teen troublemaker in the film.

He is waiting on the "action" cue to start shooting his costar (on the other side of the wall) with a (plastic) gun full of water.

While it appears they're discussing their scene motivation between takes, I'm pretty sure this was a VERY LONG video game discussion.

Checking out the playback of the scene they just filmed.

He looks ready to shoot!

Getting his instructions from the crew.

His other big project of the month was "House Arrest".  The two movies shot at the same time.  One was in Pasadena and the other was in Bellflower.

The distance from Sherman Oaks to Bellflower is 30 miles.  The distance from Sherman Oaks to Pasadena is 19 miles.

If you want the distance from Bellflower to Pasadena in California terms, the distance is:

*The 605 to the 5 to the 2 to the 134 to the 210

or

*The 605 to the 210

or

*The 105 to the 710 to the 210

No matter which route you take from Bellflower to Pasadena, it's quite the haul in Los Angeles traffic.  It was worth it because Zach had a great time doing both films.  The "House Arrest" photo below is one of my favorite pictures of The Artist at work.  He looks relaxed and ready to go when the cameras roll!

For once, that is not fake Hollywood beer!

I'll have more photos this week including some from various Hollywood movie studios!
